Window

We can feel the summer breath against the midnight air.
We can see the work ahead of us and it’s a feeling that we fear.
We know that heaven’s windows can fall from the sky.
We look up to them but we still feel alone.

The window holds revealing light from a sheltered sky.
It shimmers there in the falling dreams that fall from grace.
Into this world again, but they’re tainted here,
In the crush of life that brings us higher and higher.

The windows to heaven
are the stars in the sky.
Tiny pinpricks in the night
that show us glimpses of heaven’s light.

We can see our hopes and dreams at night among the stars.
We promise to each other that we’ll rise above it all.
The window to your soul is the window to my life.
It can take us to a better place, it can lift us there.

The windows to heaven
are the stars in the sky.
Tiny pinpricks in the night
that show us glimpses of heaven’s light.

As I hear your heart
As I touch your soul
As we move as one
With the stars above
On an windless night
As we say our prayers
And we lose ourselves
In an act of faith

The windows to heaven
are the stars in the sky.
Tiny pinpricks in the night
that show us glimpses of heaven’s light.
